    Larissa Kramer is a Sugpiaq artist who creates jewelry and is a model boat builder. She uses fish skin, beads, or botanicals set in resin for her earrings. She is the SJM Native Artist-in-Residence from August 26 – September 15, 2026. During her residency, she is leading a salmon skin earring making workshop and giving an artist talk on Alaska Native Art & Cultural History.     Kris Waymire is an Iñupiaq and Peruvian multimedia artist who creates mostly with beads and textiles. They are the SJM Native Artist in Residence from September 16 – 30, 2026. Waymire will focus on sewing their mother’s sealskin parka, give a moccasin making workshop, and give a talk about whaling during their September residency.
