Struggle to buy the foods you prefer to eat?  Have food stored in case of an emergency?  Able to access the local, wild foods you love?  Take the Sitka Food Security Survey and help local organizations better understand the food challenges facing Sitkans and the community.  It takes less than 10 minutes and the link can be found here on Sitka Soup.

The Sitka Food Security Survey is part of a community-wide food assessment to better understand the economic challenges facing Sitkans and the special role that wild local foods play in the health and well-being of Sitka families. This is the second assessment over a ten-year period.

  • This is a joint project between Transition Sitka & the Sitka Local Foods Network, with supporting partners at:  Sitka Tribe of Alaska Social Services, Sitkans Against Family Violence, Sitka Conservation Society, Sitka Public Library, Blessings in a Backpack, and UAF Cooperative Extension Service.
  • Completing this survey should take about 10 minutes. We will not collect any personally identifiable information, and your answers cannot be linked back to you. All survey responses are kept anonymous.

Access the Survey by following this link:  Food Security Survey  OR use the QR Code below.
