The City and Borough of Sitka Assembly has approved a one-time utility relief subsidy of $300 per account.

Eligible accounts are those that are active, used as a primary residence (including harbor accounts designated as liveaboard accounts), and have been open for at least 1 year (the account holder must have opened an account by November 15, 2022).

  • Only one subsidy is allowed per account/account holder.
  • Eligibility guidelines have been established by ordinance and are not open to appeal.
  • The subsidies will be applied to accounts by billing cycle beginning with the bills that are issued during the last week of November and continuing through the third week of December.
  • If you have not received a subsidy by the last week of December and believe you should have, please contact our payment office at (907) 747-1818.

Anyone wishing to decline the subsidy may do so by submitting a request in writing to utilities@cityofsitka.org. You must include your account number and be listed as an account holder on the account. Those declining the subsidy may request that the subsidy be transferred to the CBS Utility Cost Subsidization Program to support the existing program that provides a subsidy to eligible applicants.
